StipScan

Text messages

StipScan is operated by Symeron Software Inc. for US automobile dealerships. We send transactional texts about a vehicle financing application only — never marketing. Below is everyone we text, how each of them agrees to it, and what they receive.

1. Car buyers

A customer applying for financing at a dealership is asked, in person, whether they agree to receive texts from StipScan about their application. Only if they say yes does the dealership employee tick this box when creating the upload link. It is unticked by default; if it is left unticked, no text is sent and the link goes by email or is handed over by the dealership instead. StipScan records when consent was confirmed and by which employee.

They receive the upload link and, if the upload isn’t finished, one reminder:

StipScan for Ohio Auto Sales: Hi Maria, to finish your credit application, please upload photos (your driver’s license and pay stub): https://stipscan.com/scan/abc123. Questions? Call (614) 555-0100. Msg freq varies. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

2. Lenders

A lender reviewing an application opens the secure package link they were sent by email and asks for a one-time access code by pressing this button. We text the code only when they press it.

Your StipScan access code is: 481920. Valid for 10 minutes. Do not share this code.

3. Dealership staff

A dealership employee who wants alerts enters their own mobile number in their StipScan settings, under “SMS notifications — Receive review and submission alerts for the dealer workspace.” Removing the number stops the alerts.
